Link a live discussion to a session at the Community level

Today we already can create and display sessions at the Community Level. To learn how to set up a session view click here.

Session views at the Community level are the same as an event. In this recent update, we made a significant improvement to the Session View feature by providing organizers with greater flexibility and control over live discussions. With this enhancement, organizers now can link an existing event's live discussion or create a new one effortlessly by unlinking the existing live discussion and seamlessly creating and linking a new discussion when the session is showcased at the community level.

By unlinking the existing live discussion, organizers can reset the conversation and ensure that participants focus on the specific session being presented. This feature is particularly useful in scenarios where a session may have multiple parts or distinct topics, enabling organizers to create dedicated discussions for each segment.

Overall, the enhanced Session View empowers organizers to curate dynamic live discussions and adapt to the changing dynamics of their events. By providing the ability to link or create new discussions effortlessly, organizers can create a more engaging and interactive experience for participants. Whether it's reusing a conversation for a session or creating one dedicated to a community level, this improvement enables organizers to maximize the impact of their events and promote meaningful dialogue among participants.

Improvements on emails subscription management

There's been significant improvement in the email notification manager: Users will be able to manage their email preferences per community and not per event anymore. 🔥

The email preferences per event are replaced by the email preferences per community.

How does this work?

The email settings are located in the same place:

From the event page, click on the profile icon to access the drop-down menu, and then choose “Settings” to be redirected to the event settings page.

Under “Email notifications”, a community member can manage their email preferences.

⚠️ When an option is checked, the community member will set this new preference for the community and all the events linked to that community.

Introducing Payments: a simple way to sell paid event tickets 💸

We're excited to announce our first release of Payments on Swapcard Registration! 

You can now easily collect ticket fees directly from Swapcard Registration, streamlining event management from the start. Of course, you choose the currency and optional tax rate that best fits your payment needs.


How much does it cost for event organizers?

As our official payment partner, Stripe will charge a fee for every ticket sold through this method. Our percentage fee is also included, and it varies based on your Swapcard plan:

  • Free Plan: 12%
  • Starter Plan: 4%
  • Pro Plan: 3%
  • Enterprise Plan: 2%

We recommend checking this handy breakdown with taxes, Stripe fees, and Swapcard fees available when the ticket price is being set. That way, you can preview precisely how much these mean for your event. 


Feature Overview

  1. Connect your Stripe account to your organization.
  2. Currency & taxes: Set the event currency (USD, EUR, GBP, SEK, CAD, AED, AUD, SGD, or JPY) and a single tax rate (e.g., VAT).
  3. Ticket Pricing: Each ticket can have a unique price point.
  4. Manage invoices and refunds directly in your Stripe Dashboard.

New Onboarding Page for Event Organizers

We are happy to announce the launch of the Onboarding Page for event organizers. This powerful tool aims to simplify the event setup process and ensure that organizers can configure their events in the best possible way.

As Swapcard's Studio functionality continues to evolve and expand, it has become increasingly important for event organizers to have a streamlined onboarding process. The complexity of the Studio can sometimes be overwhelming for new users, and they need guidance to set up their first event successfully. This new Overview page addresses these challenges by providing a step-by-step guide to help organizers optimize their event configurations.

It consists of two main components: a checklist with seven essential steps and shortcuts to common actions.

Checklist: The checklist feature provides organizers with a clear roadmap of the necessary steps to create a successful event. It includes the following tasks:

  • Add an event cover
  • Brand the event with your colors
  • Add navigation buttons
  • Enable emails
  • Create a session
  • Add people
  • Publish the event

Shortcuts to Actions: Organizers can quickly perform important tasks like adding a session, an exhibitor, etc.

With the introduction of this new page and shortcuts to actions, Swapcard aims to empower event organizers, both new and experienced, to navigate the Studio functionality with ease.

Enhancing Visitor Engagement and Lead Generation: Introducing Automated QR Code Generation for Exhibitor Booths

Previously, Swapcard introduced a feature to boost visitor engagement with exhibitors during on-site events. This feature utilizes QR codes, which exhibitors can conveniently place at their booths, in their social media communication, or even in their email signatures. 

On-site visitors can scan these QR codes using their phone's camera, any QR code scanner, or the scanning feature within Swapcard or the branded app. Once scanned, visitors are seamlessly redirected to the exhibitor's virtual booth, with the included benefit of automatically adding the company to their 'favorites' list.

Both exhibitors and organizers can access information to see who has scanned the QR codes on-site. These details can be found in the reports section, either directly in the Studio or the Exhibitor Center.

Previously, organizers manually generated QR codes for exhibitor virtual booths. However, the new feature simplifies and streamlines this process by automatically generating QR codes. Exhibitors can conveniently access this feature directly from the Exhibitor Center, with the added option to customize the QR code according to their branding.

Organizers retain complete control over this feature and can manage it at both the group and individual exhibitor levels through the Studio.

At the group level

  • Click on “Group and permissions” for your event
  • Edit “Exhibitors” group
  • Click on the “Lead generation” tab
  • Allow to download QR code is now available 

At the exhibitor level

  • Go to Content → Exhibitors
  • Choose the exhibitor
  • Click on the “Settings” tab
  • Allow to download QR code is now available 

The automated QR code generation feature by Swapcard revolutionizes visitor engagement and drives more leads to exhibitors. 

Exhibitors can effortlessly drive interactions by placing QR codes at their booths, enabling visitors to scan and instantly access their virtual booth. With seamless integration into Swapcard or the branded app, or through web mobile browsers, visitors can explore company details and products, initiate chats, request meetings, and add favorites. By leveraging this user-friendly feature, exhibitors can maximize engagement, boost brand visibility, and optimize lead generation, gaining a significant advantage at events.

Ability to preview a Session when the Session is Simulated-live

Simulated-Live Sessions have gained popularity in virtual and hybrid events, allowing organizers to deliver pre-recorded content as if it were happening live.

However, a significant limitation was the inability to preview the session before it went live.

Fortunately, we fixed it, enabling organizers to preview their pre-recorded content within the Studio. This capability empowers them to ensure the content fits what they planned to showcase.

Exhibitor Center Revamp of Leads Board and My Team sections

We have recently introduced improved UX and UI on the Exhibitor Center landing page and the navigation bar to modernize the application and align it better with other Swapcard features.

We are happy to announce the continuation of Exhibitor Centre improvements which have been released, including the following changes:

  • Visual changes to the display of existing data within the Leads board

  • Visual changes to the way team members are displayed
  • Make a team member visible or hidden on the platform by clicking on 'Eye' icon
