Accessing the QR Code for Badge Code in Studio

Trying to scan a badge code to test SwapAccess, print a badge using Swapcard Go, or generally just need to see a badge code in the form of a QR code? Organizers can now view badge codes as QR Codes within Studio. Here's how to find and view them:

Steps to view the QR code of a Badge Code:

  1. Go to the People list in Studio.
  2. Select an individual and navigate to Settings.
  3. Scroll down to the Codes & Badges section at the bottom of the page.
  4. Click on the generated code to view the QR Code.

Additionally, if the event uses Swapcard Registration, the QR code can now also be found in the "Registration" tab of a person, within the Registration Status section. By clicking on "View QR code" next to the individual's Confirmation Number, you can view the QR code.

The UI has been updated to display details and associated actions more clearly with the inclusion of the QR code in the registration section.

Android Application Setup Now Available in Studio

We are excited to announce an important update to our Studio platform: you can now set up Android applications directly within the Studio interface. This update streamlines the process of creating and managing your branded apps, allowing you to handle both iOS and Android setups in one place.

What's New?

As part of this update, we have added two new steps to the Android application setup process:

  1. Add a Banner for the Play Store:
You will now be prompted to upload a banner image that we will use for your app's Play Store listing. This ensures your app has a polished and professional appearance when users browse the Play Store. Make sure the banner meets the required dimensions and guidelines to avoid any delays in your app submission.
  2. Share the Service Account Key:
To enable us to manage your app's publishing and updates on the Play Store, you'll need to share your Service Account Key with us. This key provides the necessary permissions for us to handle your app's backend operations securely and efficiently. We have included detailed instructions within the Studio on how to generate and share this key.

Enhancing User Access with One-Time Code and a Passwordless Option

We are excited to introduce a significant enhancement to our login process that streamlines access for both attendees and exhibitors.

Actually, when participants clicked on links from any emails sent by Swapcard, they are automatically logged into their accounts via magic links. However, a new procedure now applies when accessing the event app directly: participants will encounter a simplified login method.

Upon entering their email address, users will now have the option to continue with a password or opt for a one-time code sent to their email. This code allows users to log in without needing a password. Importantly, for users who have not set a password for their account, the one-time code will be sent automatically once they enter their email address.

After entering the six-character code, users will gain secure access to their accounts without the requirement to set or reset a password. The use of a password becomes optional, catering primarily to those who prefer using a password manager. For others, the one-time code offers a convenient and secure alternative for logging in on new devices without to remind about a password.

This update aims to provide a faster, more secure login experience that adapts to the preferences of participants, especially onsite when logging into the mobile app.

Attendees can reschedule meetings

As event organizers, it’s important to ensure attendees are able to engage with each other and maximize the networking opportunities. With the release of our new feature, attendees can now reschedule meetings with their peers on the web app. The mobile version is already on its way!

This feature is designed to make it easier for participants to make the most of their time at events, letting them adjust their schedules to make sure they don’t miss out on any key connections.

The ability to reschedule meetings also saves event organizers valuable time, as they don’t need to manually adjust participants’ agendas.

How does it work?

For pending, confirmed, and canceled meetings, all participants will be able to reschedule from the Meeting details page on the web app (and soon on the mobile app).

The participants simply have to click on "Reschedule meeting", and they will be able to select a new date, time slot, or location, if available and if the permissions allow it.

Once the rescheduled action is over, all other participants will receive a new meeting request along with a new notification on web and mobile app. The old meeting will appear as 'rescheduled' and the link to the new meeting will be mentioned.

Redesign of Custom Field Editor

Custom fields are important additional fields that allow you to enhance sessions, items, exhibitors, or people profiles. Once created, you can edit the custom fields by adding filters and managing the visibility.

We are thrilled to introduce a revamped custom field editor in Studio. The editor now features two tabs: General and Properties.

In the General Tab, you can edit the following details:

  • Label: Clearly describe the field's purpose to make it easier for attendees to understand and complete.

  • Placeholder: Provide a description of what should be entered in the field.

  • Maximum number of choices: Specify the maximum selections allowed.

  • Section: Organize and structure data by assigning custom fields to appropriate sections.
  • Values: Edit the options available for single and multiple-choice custom fields.

The Properties Tab allows you to edit the following details:

  • Field visibility: Control whether the field is displayed at the Event or Community level.
  • Field edition: Decide if attendees can edit this field in their profiles.
  • Searchable field: Enable this option to include the field's values in search results.
  • Used for recommendation: Allow the recommendation engine to use this field for knowledge or interest-based suggestions.

Custom fields are an essential tool for event organizers, enabling a high level of personalization and efficiency in handling attendee information. By using custom fields, participants can be categorized within the event app, facilitating connections between attendees with similar interests or expertise. This improvement simplifies the management of custom fields, making them more useful and relevant for organizers.

In addition to the enhancements to the Custom Field Editor, we have incorporated the Label and Placeholder fields into the Swapcard registration form. Organizers can now edit these fields directly from the form sidebar, making the process more time-efficient and streamlined.
