Organizers can add enhanced restrictions on data access by exhibitors

Organizers can now better tailor access to leads data based on a custom field, term consent or connection initiator. This feature can be used to remove leads from the report and to further monetize access to leads. Multiple conditions can now be selected at once!

How can organizers exclude details from EC Leads report?

  1. Access the Swapcard Studio
  2. Navigate to “Content” → “Exhibitors” → “Exhibitor Settings” → “Report Condition”
  3. Navigate to “Add Condition” and select a custom field, term and/or connection initiator and its values in order to exclude the data from the report

This feature allows organizers to select the data that will be shared in the Exhibitor Center report.

Creating and displaying People Content within the Community

We achieved a big step towards our Community development!

It is now possible to create and show People’s list at community level in the Web App so that community members can search and browse other people within that community.

How to create People Content at Community Level?

In Studio, at Community Level, you can reach in the side bar “Content display”

This page gathers all your Community Content pages. You can click on “Add button” to create a new view. In the Content type modal, you can click on “Participants”

Once you’ve chosen a label and a color for the Content button, the settings of the view open in a side panel. For now, in the “Visibility” tab, you cannot define the visibility of the Content which means that anyone being a member of at least 1 event inside the Community will see the Content view.

In the “Data” tab, you cannot define in detail the People you want to display on the view. Indeed, groups are not implemented yet at Community level.

Nevertheless, you can still define :

  • if you want to display People with accounts or not
  • if you want to highlight People online at the top of the view
  • which sorting you want to apply to the view
  • the way to display your people (Grid/List)
  • The filters you want to give access to your Community Members in order to refine the view

What does a Community People view look like in the Event App?

People view at Community level has exactly the same aspect than at Event level, except the fact that at Community, for now, it’s not possible to bookmark any People. It will be available soon in an other release.

Clicking on any People, it’s possible to reach the profile at Community Level

Connection initiator data for “Badge scan” and “Request” connections added to EC leads report

We enhanced available data in the Swapcard Exhibitor Center leads report, by adding information about whether an attendee or an exhibitor member initiated a connection. The initiator of the connection will be displayed for the “Badge scan” and “Request” connection types.

The new values in the report will appear in the following way:

  • Badge scan by exhibitor
  • Badge Scan by attendee
  • Request sent by exhibitor
  • Request sent by attendee

This improvement will help exhibitors to analyse and understand their leads better.

Ability to define the primary email address

Good news! You can now choose the primary email address linked to your account. Thanks to this feature, you can now receive communication emails at a different email address than the one you provided when you registered.

How do I do this? Go to your profile and click on "SET AS PRIMARY"

Note: Only a verified email can be used as the primary email

Explanation of people's recommendations

💡 "In general, we don’t blindly trust those who can’t explain their reasoning." -  IBM

One of the key reasons attendees go to an event is to network. However, it can be daunting to find the right people to talk to or kick-start conversations with strangers. Swapcard’s AI-powered networking makes meeting and talking with other event attendees a piece of cake.

Our AI recommends matches based on profile similarities. With this new feature, attendees can see why they were matched with a particular person! This helps them break the ice and provides them with topics of conversation.

For personalized people recommendations, the first level of explanations is displayed. It provides the attendee with general information on what people have in common.

Then, after clicking on the user profile, high-level explanations will be displayed with details. Attendees will find the events they have in common, interests, jobs, and so on.

How does it work?

The recommendations are based on your data, this includes your profile and the interactions that you have using the app. With this data, we create a Machine Learning model that highlights the links between your data and other data. This technique creates recommendations. A large graph is then created that links all the available data between each user according to similarities or associations found by the algorithm. These similarities or associations are the explanations.

Remind attendees to complete their profile if they dislike too many recommendations

Artificial intelligence needs to be crystal clear. It is important for:

  • Transparency
  • Explainability
  • Understandability

At Swapcard, we want to help users understand how our algorithms work in order to help them make the most of it.

That’s why we’re introducing this new modal. When a user dislikes more than 5 recommendations in a row, a popup will be displayed reminding the user of other actions they can take to help our AI provide more accurate recommendations.

These actions include:

  • Completing or editing their profile (adding details to biography, answering custom fields, etc)
  • Interacting with the app (bookmarks, making connections, etc)
  • Attending sessions
  • Increasing responsiveness

Unique People Profile per Community

We’ve made a major update to Community! At the Community level, there are now unique people profiles per community.

What value does this bring?

Let's say Event A and Event B are in the same Community:

  • As an organizer, you'll be able to carry over and reuse people created in Event A for Event B. This means you no longer have to rewrite all the information related to people for your community’s next event.
  • As a participant, if you’re already part of Event A, all your fields will be pre-filled for Event B, making registering simpler than ever.

How does this impact a user who’s a member of several events in the same Community?

Let's say that there is a user with the email address john.doe@xyz.com

This user was registered for Event 1 and Event 2, which are both in the same Community. Event 2 starts after Event 1.

This means that user john.doe@xyz.com has the same profile for both Event 1 and Event 2.

What happens to the profile of user john.doe@xyz.com after this release?

Basic Fields

For all the basic fields (listed below), we'll keep the values from the latest event (last start date).

In the example we used above, for each field, we'll take the values from Event 2 (if not empty). If the values are empty, we'll take the values from Event 1. If a basic field has no value for Event 1 and Event 2, it will remain empty.

First name
Last name
Job title
Company
Biography
Email
Website
Mobile phone number
Landline phone number
Address
ZIP code
State
City
Country
Picture
All social media

Example: john.doe@xyz.com Job title is PO in Event 1 and Product Owner in Event 2. We will keep Product Owner as the Job title. The user john.doe@xyz.com will now have the Job title Product Owner **in Event 1 and Event 2.

Custom Fields

For all the custom fields, if a field is used in several events, we'll include the value of the last event (last start date). In the example above, we'll take the value of Event 2 (if there is one), or we'll take the value of Event 1. It will stay empty if the person has no value for the custom field for Event 1 and Event 2.

⚠️ Be careful: the "Type" field is the only custom field that is created by default on all events. That is why when we switch to a unique profile for the entire Community, a different value for “Type” on several events can have a more significant impact than for the other custom fields. Example: If john.doe@acme.com has the value Animator in “Type” for Event 1 and the value Moderator for Event 2, then we will keep Moderator as the “Type” for all of the community’s events. Therefore, for Event 1 and Event 2, john.doe@acme.com will be shown as a Moderator.

Values that will stay unique per event :

  • Badge and code
  • Lead retrieval (because it’s linked to the Event group)
  • All interactions (My Schedule/My Meetings/My bookmarked companies) will stay at Event level

How to reuse existing people from one event to another in the same Community?

It is now possible to carry over people that have already been created in another event to a new event.

The process for this is simple. Let’s say for Event B you’d like to bring over select people that you created in Event A.

  1. Go to Event A in the Studio and download the People as an Excel file
  2. Clean your Excel list so that only the People you want to reuse remain (delete the non-relevant lines)
  3. Go to Event B in the Studio, click on Add People, and then choose the new option “Import from another event in the Community”

4.  Choose the Group you want your People to be assigned to

5.  Upload the updated Excel file

6.   There you have it! All the People that already exist won’t be duplicated but instead carried over to the new event.

What will change in the Event App?

In the Event App, the only change will be as follows:

Let’s look at an example: if “People” is enabled on Event A and Event B in the same Community, those People can be found at both Event A and Event B but with a different look. This is because the custom fields enabled for Event A and Event B can be different. Essentially it’s the same people, but with a different look depending on customization.

Introducing Swapcard Registration

We’re excited to announce our all-in-one platform just got better. Swapcard now has registration built into the platform. This is just the first release of many amazing registration features to come.

And there is no extra cost for using this feature, it's included in your licence! 🤩

Form Builder

The power to build your registration form is in your hands. With our amazing form builder, you’ll be able to customize the registration process with the fields of your choice, set what is required, and add as many pages as needed. New features will be added to the form builder in the coming weeks – check back for the upcoming conditional logic!

Tickets

The introduction of tickets is the foundation of registration. You’ll be able to make multiple tickets if you choose. Each ticket can have a limited or unlimited quantity. The real magic happens when you start to assign a Swapcard group to each ticket type. With this option, you can control the permissions within the Swapcard event from the moment they register.

Managing Registrations

Registrations can be managed cohesively with the current attendees. You’ll be able to add registrations, modify tickets, or even cancel registrations.

Coming Soon

In addition to conditional logic being added to the forms, we’ll also be releasing custom registration terms in the very near future. Here at Swapcard, we have big plans for registration: embeddable forms, payments, community registration, and onsite solutions!

Add External links or Embedded WebViews to your Community

Another great feature that will make your community even more attractive!

Enrich your event content by embedding or re-directing to external sites from the Community.

Add a WebView to your community

The set up of a WebView is the same as the Even app.

In Studio, at Community Level, you can reach in the side bar “Content display”

This page gathers all your Community Content pages. You can click on “Add button” to create a new view. In the Content type modal, you can click on “WebView”.

Now choose a label and a color for the Content button, add the link to the website or the link to a PDF file and select if this external link should be display in a new tab or as an embedded iframe.

New tab: When selecting a “New tab” the WebView is opened in a new tab in your browser.

Embedded iframe: when selecting “Embedded iframe” the WebView is opened within the Swapcard web app or branded app.

Regarding the settings of the view open in a side panel, for now, in the “Visibility” tab, you cannot define the visibility but you can access the “Data” tab and edit the link and edit the view (new tab or embedded iframe).
